Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on the 21st of September of 1983 in Worthington, Ohio, is an American actress. She is famous for her roles as Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills respectively on ABC's Lost television show. After the divorce of her parents her parents separated, she moved to Worthington Ohio in order to settle in Los Angeles. The actress landed her first part, as Rachel's Room's lead character in 2001, despite having a difficult time in the financial department. In 2002, she was nominated for a Young Artist Award with her role as 15-year old murder victim Martha Moxley. Grace played Shannon Rutherford on the Lost television series in 2004. She played the lead protagonist for two seasons and also won an award for her performance, a Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace, who had worked with Tom Welling on The Fog in 2005, decided to make the move into the world of film. She was as a character in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in 2007 as well as Taken (2008) with Liam Neeson. In 2008, she reprised the role Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland which is a modern interpretation from the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace reprised the role as Shannon in two episodes of Lost which included the finale of the series. In 2013 she appears in Season 6 of Californication. She plays Faith as a female groupie and also a model for the stars. Hank Moody is played by David Duchovny. She's the child of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), and is older in age than Jake Gyllenhaal. As a teenager She appeared in small roles in her father's movies and she co-starred alongside her twin brother on Donnie Darko the famous cult film. Then she appeared as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind as well as Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). Gyllenhaal received critical acclaim for her performance as the main character in Secretary (2002), the erotic drama about romance and Sherrybaby (2006). The actress received a nomination from her fellow actors for the Golden Globe Award. The year 2006 was the time she had numerous commercially successful movies including World Trade Center. However the role she played in the role of Rachel Dawes that brought her wider attention in The Dark Knight (2008). For her performance as the single mother in Crazy Heart (2009) she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. The following years she appeared in comedy as well as dramatic movies: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012. The other roles she's played include Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013 an action thriller) as well as musicians in Frank (2014 Drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018) as well as The Kindergarten Teacher. Gyllenhaal started her career as screenwriter and director in 2021, when she directed and wrote her psychological horror film The Lost Daughter.
