Bea adopted the stage name Bea as a tribute to her father and published an article in The Guardian in 2017 about the suicide of her family members. Bea (and her sister Sinead) were raised in a home by Helen Moloney who was a instructor and trainer of jockeys who was a professional jockey. They were both passionate about horses, races as well as the race industry. Bea began her career as a tour guide at the Irish National Stud.
